San Roque
Established, tree-shaded, and set back from the coastal fog
San Roque sits about three miles northwest of downtown, where Upper State Street’s commercial strip gives way to quiet residential streets. It’s one of the warmer parts of the city — far enough inland to skip the coastal marine layer — and one of the most established, with most homes built between the 1950s and ’70s as the area filled in around San Roque and Rutherford Parks.
